The same curiosity that drove Sandy and Lindsay Blair to bring in the first rail car of fertilizer in Saskatchewan in 1948 has driven the Blair’s family of businesses for four generations and 72 years.

As information has become a more important farm input, we’ve led the charge to educate employees to create solutions instead of colorful maps; and to bring rationality and economics to variety and livestock trait selection.

For example, you’ll hear Blairs.Ag Cattle Company people talk about performance selection of beef traits for feed conversion as well as carcass beef traits.

For 72 years, Blair’s continues to deliver innovative, customized solutions to customers; and to challenge them with new approaches to farming. Technology as a tool is in our history, present and our future. Employees’ roles are to identify opportunities on each farm and deliver customized approaches to profitability.

Blair’s serves seven locations including: Lanigan, Nokomis, Watrous, Liberty, McLean, Lipton, and Rosthern, plus a state of the art fertilizer distribution terminal in Hanley.

Blair's Family of Companies is a fourth-generation, family-owned business founded in 1948.

Our business has grown through the generations and now operates in seven rural Saskatchewan communities plus our fertilizer distribution terminal near Hanley.

We pride ourselves in finding innovative solutions for our customers, and in the words of our co-founder, Sandy Blair, "When everyone else is on the highway, take the grid.” We will continue to take the grid for generations to come...it's all about putting our customers' needs first.

Our Owners


The names have changed with the generations, but the goal of family farm profitability, reliable supply and support, and expertise on call, have remained the same.

Ron and Dale Blair succeeded their parents in the business, expanding locations and adding services as agriculture has become more complex, and now, Ron’s son, Kevin, and nephew, Darren, own and operate the business.
 

Our Team

Blair’s is 100+ employees, committed to your success. The entire team knows how critical seeding and harvest seasons are, and how little time you have to get them right. Over the years, Blair’s introduced various support services and decision tools to get things right, thanks to technology and research.

Add to that equation employees “who get it”, through farm background, training, and rural roots, they understand that agriculture isn’t an eight-hour day; or the same thing every day.
