      Durum Wheat in the Strongfield Area August 21, 2015 Nokomis and Area – Sarah Stewart-Rogers Harvest operations are in full swing this week. Canola acres are maturing with many fields being swathed as well as straight-cut varieties being desiccated. Pulses have also been desiccated or swathed and are starting to come off the field and into the bin.       Combining Barley in the Davidson Area August 14, 2015 Nokomis and Area – Sarah Stewart-Rogers Harvest operations are slowly getting underway in the Nokomis area this week. Pulses are being desiccated, swathing of maturing Canola and some cereals is also happening. Besides the onset of Cabbage Moths and Mosquitoes, there is very little insect action in the field. Diamondback Larvae have almost finished and cocoons are present on pods and leaves in the Canola.       Barley Field by Davidson July 31, 2015 Nokomis and Area – Sarah Stewart-Rogers After a much needed rain and a not-so-much needed wind storm, crops are faring well and have overall slowed maturity to take advantage of late season moisture.
